Job Title: Accountant   Location : US – Columbus

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
  • Support the monthly Accounting close process
  • Manage all aspects of the General Ledger (Sales, COGS, Expenses, AP/AR, bank statements) including journal entries, reconciliations and analysis
  • Prepare & analyze monthly and annual financial statements and create monthly variance analysis to Budget and prior forecast
  • Monitor and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk and identify areas of opportunity to better safeguard assets
  • Identify, document, implement, and drive process improvements of accounting processes for increased efficiencies and controls
  • Support annual audit including requests from external accounting firm
  • Process accounts payable invoices in the Transportation Management System as needed
  • Assist with preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and monthly enterprise consolidation and forecast (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash)
  • Assist in the creation of monthly financial reporting packages for the executive team
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and other support of the CFO as requested
  • Weekly reporting including but not limited to AR, AP and cash flow
  • Qualifications

  • Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience including transactional and analysis responsibilities
  • Public Accounting experience and knowledge of GAAP desirable
  • Experience in a Retail, Logistics or Technology company is a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel modeling and Accounting systems necessary
  • Experience with foreign currency exchange accounting preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Naturally curious with a desire to continuously learn
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong interest in improving processes, seeking efficiencies, and implementing best practices
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work independently but also have strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Works with a sense of urgency
