Business Controller | Finance

Your role

This is a unique role that manage all aspects of the General Ledger (Sales, COGS, Expenses, AP/AR, bankstatements), including journal entries, reconciliations and analyses.

In this role, the Business Controller will need to have knowledge of Transfer Pricing and experience in a retail, logistics or construction company is a plus.
The position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is highly organized with keen attention to detail. 

What we're looking for

• Public Accounting experience and knowledge of GAAP desirable
• Knowledge of (construction) project administration
• Proficiency with Excel modeling and Accounting system Exact Globe
• Experience with foreign currency exchange accounting preferred
• Knowledge of the reporting and consolidation in Lucanet preferred
• Experience in financial and business analytics and Power BI or Cliksense

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

Accounting Operations

• Dutch Gaap
• Support the monthly Accounting close process
• Prepare & analyze monthly and annual financial statements and create monthly variance analysis to Budget and prior forecast
• Monitor and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk and identify areas of opportunity to better safeguard assets
• Identify, document, implement, and drive process improvements of accounting processes for increased efficiencies and controls
• Support annual audit including requests from external accounting firm
• Process accounts payable invoices in the Transportation Management System as needed

Financial Analysis

• Assist with preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and monthly enterprise consolidation and forecast (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash)
• Assist in the creation of monthly financial reporting packages for the executive team
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and other support of the CFO as requested
• Weekly reporting including but not limited to AR, AP and cash flow

Education:          

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; CMA is a plus

Experience:       

• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience including transactional and analysis responsibilities
• Second or third career step

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Naturally curious with a desire to continuously learn
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong interest in improving processes, seeking efficiencies, and implementing best practices
• Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
• Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion
• Ability to work independently but also have strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Works with a sense of urgency
